Dating someone who is married does have unique challenges and there are several things you should know before you decide to go down this road.
Discretion
If you are dating someone who is looking to have an affair, you need to understand that you become a secret that they don’t want to get out. If you can’t handle the idea of playing second fiddle, it’s not a good idea to get involved. You may also find yourself having to travel to locations outside of the area so they can avoid being seen.
Emotions
If you are the kind of person who finds themselves getting attached to others easily, dating a married person is definitely not the right idea for you. Someone who is married is rarely going to leave their spouses for you. You won’t be able to see them whenever you want, and you won’t be able to go public with the relationship. Dating someone who is married should only be a casual sex thing, and nothing more.
The Spouse
Even if you are completely careful there is a possibility that the spouse will discover the affair. In this event you have to be prepared to deal with very strong emotions. You may never be able to contact your date again, and the spouse may target you as the cause of the problems.
